One of my clients who is also a good friend wanted a nice colour scheme for her girl's room. Her girls wanted Pink but she totally did not. I suggested PINK and GREY and she was like "yikes, no way!".
Once I showed her some reference pictures she totally changed her mind! Here is an awesome combination ...PINK and GREY !!! Yes, you have to see it to believe it. It not only complements each other so well, but I think it has a dreamy feel about it- Whether used in a traditional room or a modern one.
