Jet ...Set...Go

Interior designer Dahlia Mahmood from Dahlia Design has created this amazing aviation themed room of a little explorer.

The little explorer is all set for take off with this plane bed and can fly as fast as he can dream, and as high as he can imagine.

The theme is complete with the world map on the walls...the places he can explore.

The Storage also complements the theme perfectly.

The elegant ceiling says "sky is the limit" and is aptly adorned with a compass chandelier.

Designer Dahlia Mahmood has indeed taken jet-setting to a whole new level in this eclectic airplane-themed kids' bedroom.

A little bit of India

Whenever I read or hear something about the progress India has been making, there is a thin smile on my lips and a prayer in my heart. India is fast becoming a superpower, says Shashi Tharoor (loved this speech) -- not just through trade and politics but through "soft" power...It's ability to share it's culture with the world. He argues that in the long run It's not the size of the army that matters as much as the countries ability to influence hearts and mind. How true!!

Today is India's 63rd Republic Day. It feels good that besides other factors India has influenced the choice of design, colours and architecture in people's homes every where. People who have visited India briefly or on the web have wanted the feeling of being in India linger when they went back to their country and homes.

I happen to stumble upon this awesome Sci-Fi Theme room @ Gigazine. This room is designed around "Evangelion(A Japanese Sci-Fi Series)" .

This  life size model of Rei Ayanami reminds me of G-one in the glass case from the movie Ra-one

The bed, which looks like a space capsule, continues with the theme.

The futuristic photo wall adds to the decor...I love it!

 This room is nicely divided into zones. the raised area is the sleeping and storing zone and the lower one is like a playroom with study on one side and a bunk bed with a goal post on the other.

Diwali Eye Candy--Princess Meera's room

Here are some images of the set from "The saga of Meera". This set was designed after a lot of research of Meera's era by Art director Chokas Bhardwaj.

This is Princess Meera's beautiful bedroom. It is opulent with  Rich gold, blue and red as the predominant colours.

Bright colours are also used keeping in mind the Rajput Royalty's preference

Here are two rooms with Superhero theme. Both done up in very different styles. 

A nice and comfortable room from PB Kids, has a lot of character to it. Classic bed designs . Love the brick and the skyline finished wall as a part of the backdrop. 

The above room is from Cia International and has a very modern minimal look to it. Like the idea of having the comic cover on the wardrobe shutters. Also like the modern upholstered bed with soft edges.
